NC Landscape Contractors’ Licensing Exam

NC Landscape Contractor Licensing Pre-Scheduled Exam** (Exams may also be scheduled in the NCLCLB office, after applications have been approved)

This is a three part exam: General Knowledge, Site Plan, and Plant ID.  (Individuals who have previously passed the Plant ID portion of the NCNLA CPP exam do not need to take the Plant ID exam. Verification will be need prior to issuance of the Landscape Contractor’s license)

Please note: You must submit your completed exam application to NCLCLB, including the original copy of the required surety bond, by October 10th 2018. Obtained this at the following web site: https://nclclb.com/licensing-2/license-applications-forms/

Mail your completed application*, original Surety bond with Power of Attorney form from Surety Bond provider, and a $75 check made payable to the “NCLCLB” to the following address:

Once your application is reviewed and approved you will be notified to submit the $150 exam fee, which must be received prior to the the exam date.

**By Administrative rule (NCAC 28B .0201) , in order to be permitted to take an examination, an applicant shall submit a complete application no less than 30 days prior to the scheduled examination date.  You must also submit a signed Landscape Contractor’s Surety Bond of $10,000 or Irrevocable Letter of Credit from a financial institution with your application
